The beginning.

So, about that.. I got myself a new blog-  one written in english because I've been receiving some feedbacks about my polish blog- that it's simply impossible to translate my posts using google.translate, because then they make no sense.  Well, okay, if anyone is curious what is Alicia wondering about.. There you go! If you really want to know, here I am, ready to tell you everything. Okay- almost everything.
I want to post my pictures here too, as well as my recipes, because I'm very passionate about photography and cooking.

Were to begin..
I am sitting on the sofa, drinking coffe, having a cookie with it and wondering.. when the hell is the weather going to change into blooming spring? Please, the rain, the wind and the grey sky is killing my positive thinking. Getting to the train station on my bike in the morning is like a bad joke with that wind blowing in my face. I hate it. I can't stand the fact that there are countries with beautiful weather all year long!
And people keep repeating ''yeah, it's cold, but your from Poland, so you're used to the cold''.. No, hell no!
Please don't mistake Poland for Siberia! We do have cold winters, but not really a lot colder than here. I don't ''come from the land of the ice and snow'' (Led Zeppelin- Immigrant Song), but from northern Poland, Gdansk- a city by the sea. And by the way- at least we had summer last year, while The Netherlands offerd its citizens... what? Autumn all year long? Suck it!

Anyway, I am looking forward to summer. Because it has colours! Which make life really worth living.
Talking about colours- I search for them everywhere. Also in food.
It is very important for me to have a lively looking dish. The only one that can be grey and have a look which  is totally not tempting can be polish dumplings with meat. But believe me- once you taste them you get devoted to them until the rest of your life!

Recently I was wondering, what should I do with a can of chicpeas that I bought after returning from my Madrid trip. I tasted there a wonderful dish- Cocido Madrileno- which includes garbanzo beans (chickpea).
But making cocido here has no point, due to lack of ingridients. But the chicpea! What to do with it?
I found few great recipes, but I used the easiest one- a salad, with wholewheat pasta, feta cheese, black olives, rucola, garlic, tomato, black pepper and a hint of balsamic sauce.
Honestly? It tastes great with everything! Grab a slice of brown bread with it, wrap it up a pancake, put it on matza bread or simply eat out from the bowl when nobody is watching.
Simple, tasty, healthy and colourful!

Okay, right now I'm gonna go, the dishwasher really wants me to empty it.
Thank you for your attention, hope to see you soon!

P.S. My prayers have been finally heard- today we had a fire alarm at the hotel!
False one- but still was lovely to see all the people leaving the breakfast in panic!
